Apparently our local governments have been using 'concentration camp' style holding camps for some time to detain protesters at large events such as national conventions for the parties. Since when is it acceptable to treat Americans in a manner far worse than Guantanamo Bay detainees? Since you began giving up your freedoms and stopped demanding that your governments be accountable to the people for what they do.In 2004 the New York City police detained over 1700 protesters in what is reported to be a warehouse contaminated with lead and asbestos. Now the Denver police have been exposed by news crews to be setting up a holding camp of their own in a warehouse, complete with metal holding cages.
A news crew was able to get inside and get some footage before being told to leave. This coverage was disturbing, to say the least. I myself cannot believe that in America we are allowing our government, at any level, to take away our freedom of speech and make us prisoners of political agenda. I believe Americans have been deprived of basic education that has any substantial worth, only to be indoctrinated with the dictoral views of political correctness in place today.
For those of you who have forgotten, or were never taught your rights, the U.S. Constitution contains a set of amendments called the Bill of Rights and the first Amendment states: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
So why is it that at every turn our rights are under assault from our own government. Land of the Free? Do you really believe that; try pulling your head out of the sand, reality looks much more insidious and it is getting worse every day. If you really believe that socialist and communist countries are inherently evil and their governments wrong for their atrocities against humanity then you better heed what Obama stands for and what the Democrats practice.
Those like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Dick Durbin, Jack Murtha, and Barack Obama are traitorous socialists through and through who are out to destroy freedom and Godly standards. Republicans are to blame for their rule; Repulicans In Name Only (RINO's). RINO's have become haughty and heartless voters. If the establishment does not bring forward an acceptable candidate they either carelessly place their vote for the unworthy candidate, or they throw away their vote to stay home on Election day.
Shame on those of you who call yourselves Conservative, yet do not live it. You should have been out in mass at the Primary placing your vote for the true conservative nominee. Quit leaving it to others to do for you. Quit using religious denomination as a litmus test and using religious prejudice as an excuse to vote for liberals and moderates. God will not reward misguided good intentions; only the fruits you bear.

My posts get mistook for my husband's quite often, so I wanted to let you know this was my not being clear in my independent thought. I apologize if the way I wrote that particular part of my post made it sound like I included true Conservatives; I was not.
In fact, I was referring to those who claim they are Conservative, but in fact are RINO Republicans. They have become so indignant and politically correct they no longer understand what Conservative even is anymore.
Here locally the Republican Party cannot even get anyone to volunteer anymore without pulling teeth. On any given day you can drive by the Democrat Party's headquarters and they will be open with people coming and going, yet the Republican headquarters will be closed because no one would be bothered to show up.
It is very discouraging to want to be involved, but no one else wants to put forth any effort; even to the point of not showing up to vote. Don't get wrong, we do have a core of Conservatives who are pulling all of the weight, but there is only so much a handful of people can accomplish; and what happens when we get burnt out?
I am going to update the post to make my point a little clearer. Thank you for your comment, I was not aware that it came across in that manner.

Yes, the state of this country today can be discouraging, but--we've got the awesome powers of Heaven with us.
