Here is this week's pre game articles on my teams, unfortunately it does not look like a good day for us Notre Dame fans, likewise with North Carolina. Penn State should be able to win, but they are struggling and finally Wisconsin will probably have a closer game than most think, but I don't see any way that Illinois beats us.

GAME NOTES: Still in search of their first victory this season, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish limp into Pasadena to take on the UCLA Bruins. Notre Dame is trying to avoid its first 0-6 start in school history and snap a seven-game losing skid that dates back to last season. The Fighting Irish have lost all five of their games this season by double figures, and the closest score was a 33-19 loss at Purdue last weekend. With Boston College and USC on the schedule the next two weeks, things won't get any easier. Clearly, this 2007 squad has a legitimate chance to go down as the worst in the history of the program. UCLA is 4-1 overall, including a perfect 3-0 mark against fellow Pac-10 squads. The Bruins are coming off a 40-14 road thrashing of Oregon State, their second straight double-digit victory. They are 2-0 at home and have scored at least 40 points in three games. Notre Dame has won all three previous meetings with UCLA, including a 20-17 triumph over the Bruins a year ago. [read more]
WISCONSIN:
Oates: Fifth-ranked UW an underdog?
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Yes, it's the year of the underdog in college football, but this latest development is so ... well, allow Illinois coach Ron Zook to tell you what he thinks about fifth-ranked University of Wisconsin being a 2 1/2-point underdog to the unranked Illini Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
"I think that's ludicrous," Zook said.
Ludicrous? No.
Curious? Absolutely.
In addition to their No. 5 ranking, the Badgers have a 5-0 record and the nation's longest winning streak at 14 games. Illinois is 4-1, including a victory over a ranked Penn State team last week, but this is a recovering program and the four wins match Illinois' total from the past two seasons combined. [read more]
PENN STATE:
Complete success eludes Penn State
TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Thursday, October 4, 2007
Penn State has lost two consecutive games because both the offense and defense are getting it half right.
Neither unit played a complete game against Michigan or Illinois. The working thesis of many observers is the Nittany Lions (3-2, 0-2) have lost almost exclusively because of poor offensive play, but that isn't the entire explanation.
Illinois had 21 points and 193 yards of total offense by halftime in last week's 27-20 win over the Lions, with one touchdown on special teams.
"We were pretty frustrated with our performance, especially in the first half," linebacker Sean Lee said Wednesday of the Penn State defense. [read more]
